Eating Problems

Eating habits and food tastes are mostly learned from parental examples. Most parents that don’t eat vegetables or don’t like milk will have children with the same kinds of likes and dislikes.

All children go through a "fussy" stage with eating, usually around the age of three. Try not to get upset if your child won’t eat certain foods or meals. Keep portions small but do not reward poor eating habits with dessert.

Snacks and appetizers (crackers, cheese, sugary juices, ect.) will do more to ruin good eating habits then anything else. Show me a poor eater and I’ll show you a child that loves cookies.

Your child will never starve by missing a meal completely and will learn a lot about you and life in general if he goes hungry one night.

Again, both parents must agree and be consistent on a day to day basis.
