We are providing these pages to our patients and their parents as a quick
reference guide to some common health issues pertaining to well children. Here
are some pointers to keep in mind as you turn to the information and insights on
these pages:
During office hours, if your child has a medical emergency, call and tell us
you have an emergency. We will schedule an appointment. If there is not
time to call us because of the nature of the emergency, go to an emergency
room or call your 911 or other emergency number. If you're not sure whether
your child is having an emergency, please err on the side of safety and call
us or your emergency number. If a true medical emergency occurs in the evening
or on the weekend, call 911 or go to the emergency room.
Please maintain regular face-to-face contact with us! No website or
reference guide can replace personal professional care for your child. We are
happy to make an appointment to examine or treat your child or discuss
questions about his or her health.
These pages generally pertain to healthy children. We don't address every
illness or symptom, and the information may not be right for every child. If
your child is taking medication or is being treated for a specific condition
– or if you have questions about whether any information is appropriate for
your child – check with us or schedule an appointment.
Feel free to print out any pages you find helpful. However, these pages are
for our own patients and we ask that you not share the pages or passwords with
other parents. If you do print out pages, please check back with my site and
with my office to make sure you have up-to-date information. Pediatric
information is constantly improving and dealing with new challenges. Although
we will try to keep the information on these pages up to date, check with us
for the most current insights or if you have any questions.
Cyberspace is not foolproof. For example, if you use e-mail to contact us
and don't hear from us within 2 days, give us a call. The message may not have
gone through.
Let us know if you find this service helpful, have suggestions to improve
it, or think any information on these pages is incorrect. We'd appreciate your
feedback!
In addition, our website is still in the development and testing phase, so
these pages may have errors or may not always be available. Please call us if
you have any questions about the website or your child.
Finally, as always, use your common sense. If you have any questions about
any of this information or your child's health, please call or make an
appointment. You are responsible for following these guidelines and for the
appropriate use of information on these pages. You agree we will not be liable
for any injury, claim or damage arising from inappropriate use of, or reliance
on this information.
